This one just isn't as good as The Theory of Attraction (the first book in the series) however the author is definitely one of the best writers in the genre working today. She managed to infuse lots of humor into this novella, something that is often lacking with explorations of BDSM, D/s and the power dynamic. The first book I read of hers, When in Rio is still my favorite and after several years continues to remain on my keeper shelf for rereads.

The Seduction Hypothesis is well worth reading just for the descriptions of graphic novel characterizations. Within 97 pages she described the characters and the setup for a story arc for a completely separate story in a different genre (but still connected through a love of BDSM kink) and the reader can still differentiate the two. Plus the idea of two hot nerds, quick I need some lemonade.

It's not a good sign when you are craving the story be written by another author! I've been feeling for book bloggers lately, who seem to feel obliged to complete such abominations. I would have ditched it somewhere in the first chapter.

You have a high tolerance for pain, don't you? That's some of the worst writing I've read, ever. I've talked about certain historical writers having a checklist that they go down to make sure that all their research gets used, clumsy when they let it show, but this is the first time I've seen the actual numbered 3x5 index cards showing.

Intrigued by the whole hypocrisy/slut-shaming angle. I've read a couple of Bylin's HH titles eons ago, and like them. Writing this one down.....
